While every student and school culture is unique, here is a list of common concerns, issues and risks specific to school culture generally related to students challenged by school anxiety, depression and/or anxiety, ADHD and other learning differences, substance and electronic misuse, autism spectrum disorders and peer/family/adult conflict.

- Hygiene - personal, dorm room and in common living areas
- Academic demands
- Additional therapy or support- connection with a local therapist or support group
- Revealing too much personal or treatment information- appropriate self disclosure
- Medication management- compliance with school medication policy
- Behavior and expectations while off campus or home on break of school and family
- Mandatory random drug testing
- Relative freedom related to recent treatment experience
- Emotional regulation
- Relapse
